Metro Detroit Group Markets Pure Michigan Creative Talent at SIGGRAPH Computer Graphics Convention Detroit, MI, August 3, 2007 — The Southeast Michigan Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH (SEMAFX) is promoting Michigan's creative technology Community for the third year in a row at SIGGRAPH the largest international computer graphics conference in the world being held August 5th through 9th 2007 in San Diego,CA. This marketing campaign follows last year’s successful “Great American Road Trip” where a motor coach covered in advertisements for Michigan creative companies and organizations along with the slogan “Digital Artists Onboard” toured the conference area. This year’s campaign will feature T-shirts with the slogans “Get Pure Talent” and “Get Raw Talent” and websites www.getpuretalent.com and www.getrawtalent.com. At SIGGRAPH, we want the outstanding message to be that you can count on the creative companies and talent in Michigan to perform the work. Michigan has a strong creative technology community can handle a variety of projects ranging from film and video, animation, audio, architectural visualization, video game development, multimedia, motion capture, mobile media, and Internet development. However, many people, including those in Michigan, don't realize how much we have to offer and we have the potential right now for significant growth to be internationally known as a creative TechTown. There will be many Michigan Creative Technology ambassadors providing information and news about Michigan's capabilities. SEMAFX The ACM SIGGRAPH Professional Chapter of Southeast Michigan (SEMAFX) is a non-profit computer graphics community of creative professionals, teachers, students and hobbyists involved in the digital arts and related media fields. SEMAFX's mission is to enhance the local digital arts industry, encourage communication, educate and network the workforce, and increase awareness of the capabilities of Michigan's digital creative resources. Since its inception in 1998, SEMAFX has held monthly events, supported charities and scholarships, mentored kids, and built relationships with area colleges and digital media and technology companies. SIGGRAPH 2007 Annual conference on computer graphics convened by the ACM SIGGRAPH organization. The first SIGGRAPH conference was in 1974. The conference is attended by tens of thousands of computer professionals, and has most recently been held in Boston.
